How to Set Up a Proxy in Octo Browser

Octo Browser gives every profile its own proxy, so each account you run looks like it lives on its own device with its own connection. Adding a proxy takes about two minutes, and Octo fills in most of the form for you when you paste the login string.

This guide follows the video step by step, using one of our dedicated SentraCell proxies over SOCKS5. HTTP works the same way.

What You'll Need

• •Octo Browser, installed from octobrowser.net and signed in. Any plan works.
• •Your SOCKS5 login: host, port, username and password, as one string. SentraCell customers get it in @sentracell_proxies_bot on Telegram.
• •Your rotation link, optional. It lets you change the IP from inside Octo.

Step-by-Step Setup

  Copy your SOCKS5 login. In the SentraCell bot, tap Manage ID credentials, pick your proxy and copy the SOCKS5 string. It comes as host:port:username:password in one line, which is exactly what Octo wants.

  Create a profile. In Octo, click Create profile and give it a name. Anything works; in the video it's just "test".

  Open the proxy section. Scroll down in the profile settings, click Set proxy/VPN, then Add a new proxy/VPN.

  Paste the login string into the Host field. Octo splits it into host, port, username and password by itself. Check that the type says SOCKS5. If it didn't split, pick SOCKS5 and fill the four fields by hand.

  Click Check proxy. After a second you should see a ping time and the proxy's IP and location. That means the connection works. Click Confirm.

  Click Create profile. The proxy is now attached to that profile, and only that profile.

  Start the profile with the play button, then open whatismyip.com in the window that appears. It can take a few seconds to load the first time.

  Check your IP. Tap Home in the SentraCell bot and compare. In the video both end in 205, so the proxy is applied. If the page shows your home IP instead, go back to step 4.

How to Rotate Your IP

Two ways. Open the SentraCell bot and tap Rotate IP, or, if you filled in the Change IP URL, use the rotate option next to the proxy in Octo. Either way the phone reconnects to the carrier and comes back with a new IP in 5 to 10 seconds. The profile stays open and picks up the new IP on the next page load.

If It Doesn't Work

Check proxy fails. Copy the string from the bot again and paste it fresh. A space at the start or end breaks it. Also make sure the type is SOCKS5, not HTTP, if you copied the SOCKS5 login.

The profile shows your real IP. The proxy didn't get saved to the profile. Open the profile settings and check the proxy field shows your proxy, not "Direct".

Pages load slowly. Mobile connections run at carrier speed, usually 100 to 250 ms. If it's much slower than that, rotate the IP once and try again.

Octo Browser Proxy FAQ

Can I use one SentraCell proxy on several Octo profiles?

You can, but every profile on that proxy shares one IP, which is what you're paying to avoid. For accounts that need to look unrelated, use one proxy per profile.

SOCKS5 or HTTP in Octo?

Both work. SOCKS5 is the better default because it carries every kind of traffic. Use the HTTP login only if a tool you're running needs it.

Does the proxy stay attached if I close Octo?

Yes. The proxy is saved with the profile and with Octo's proxy list, so it's there the next time you open it.
