How to Set Up a Mobile Proxy on iPhone Using Shadowrocket
The easiest way to run a mobile proxy on iPhone is through Shadowrocket — a powerful proxy client for iOS that routes all your traffic system-wide. Once it's set up, every app on your phone runs through the proxy automatically. No tinkering with individual app settings, no limitations.
Here's the full setup from scratch.
Before you start: Make sure you have your SentraCell proxy credentials ready — host, port, username, and password. These are delivered straight to your Telegram DM after purchase. If you don't have them yet, message us on Telegram to get set up.
What You'll Need
Before starting, have these ready:
- —Shadowrocket — available on the App Store ($2.99). One of the best proxy clients available for iOS.
- —Host — your proxy server address
- —Port — your proxy port number
- —Username & Password — your proxy authentication credentials
Step-by-Step Setup in Shadowrocket
-
1Download Shadowrocket from the App Store. Search "Shadowrocket" — it's the one with the rocket icon. It costs $2.99 and is worth every cent.
-
2Open Shadowrocket and tap the + button in the top right corner to add a new proxy.
-
3Select the proxy type. For SentraCell proxies, select HTTP or SOCKS5 depending on which protocol your credentials are for. HTTP is the default — check your credentials DM if unsure.
-
4Enter your proxy details. Fill in the Host, Port, Username, and Password fields exactly as they appear in your SentraCell Telegram DM.
-
5Save the proxy by tapping Done in the top right. You'll see your new proxy appear in the list.
-
6Enable the proxy by tapping the toggle next to it. Shadowrocket will ask you to allow it to add a VPN configuration — tap Allow and authenticate with Face ID or your passcode.
-
7Toggle Shadowrocket on using the main switch at the top of the home screen. The VPN icon will appear in your iPhone status bar — you're live.
That's it. Every app on your iPhone is now routing through your SentraCell mobile proxy — Instagram, Safari, Chrome, whatever. System-wide, no exceptions.
How to Verify It's Working
Once Shadowrocket is active, open Safari and go to ipleak.net or whatismyip.com. You should see a different IP address to your normal one — that's your SentraCell proxy IP. If your real IP still shows, double-check your host and port are entered correctly and that the main Shadowrocket toggle is on.
How to Rotate Your IP
You don't need to touch Shadowrocket to rotate your IP. Just open Telegram, go to your SentraCell bot, and hit Rotate IP. Your proxy gets a fresh IP in 5–10 seconds — Shadowrocket stays connected and picks it up automatically.
Keep Shadowrocket in your Control Center for quick access. Go to Settings → Control Center → add Shadowrocket. One swipe and you can toggle your proxy on or off without opening the app.
Why Shadowrocket Over the Native Settings?
iOS has a built-in proxy setting under Wi-Fi, but it only works on Wi-Fi connections and only for certain types of traffic. Shadowrocket works on both Wi-Fi and mobile data, handles authentication properly, supports SOCKS5, and gives you much more control over how traffic is routed. For anyone doing serious work with proxies on iPhone, Shadowrocket is the right tool.
